A LUXURY MARQUEE WEDDING AT A PRIVATE HERTFORDHSIRE HOME
Daniel & JANE private Home wedding
If you’re dreaming of an elegant, refined celebration at home — something deeply personal yet beautifully elevated — this wedding will speak to you.
Planned by Studio Sorores, this luxury black tie celebration took place at the couple’s private home in the Hertfordshire countryside. It was modern, romantic and intentionally designed — the perfect example of what fine art wedding photography in the UK can look and feel like.
This wasn’t just a wedding day. It was an experience created from the ground up.
A Private Home Wedding in the English Countryside
There is something incredibly special about getting married at home.
The setting already holds meaning. The atmosphere feels relaxed and intimate from the moment guests arrive. And yet, with the right creative team, a private home can be transformed into something extraordinary.
For this wedding, the gardens became the backdrop to a beautifully styled outdoor ceremony. The countryside setting provided soft natural light and open skies — ideal for fine art wedding photography, where movement, emotion and detail are captured in an editorial yet timeless way.
If you are considering a marquee wedding at home, this is proof that it can feel every bit as luxurious as a traditional venue — and often even more personal.
An Outdoor Ceremony with a Garden-Inspired Floral Design
The ceremony design was breathtaking.
Jessie and her team created an intimate floral-lined aisle that felt as though it had grown naturally from the garden itself. Guests were seated amongst soft florals, leading towards an abundant, organic arch that framed the couple during their celebrant-led ceremony.
It felt romantic, immersive and completely intentional.
For couples drawn to fine art wedding photography in the UK, this kind of styling works beautifully — layered textures, natural movement and a soft colour palette allow images to feel painterly and timeless rather than trend-led.
Champagne, Canapés and Floral-Filled Garden Lounges
Following the ceremony, guests enjoyed drinks and canapés across the gardens.
Thoughtfully styled lounge areas filled with florals created pockets of atmosphere — elegant but relaxed. Black tie dress codes always bring a certain sophistication, and paired with the countryside setting, the result felt modern yet classic.
These in-between moments are often my favourite to photograph. The laughter, the embraces, the movement of fabric in the breeze — all captured in a way that feels natural but elevated.
Fine art wedding photography is never about stiff posing. It’s about composition, light and emotion working together.
A Luxury Modern Marquee Reception
As the evening unfolded, guests were led to a surprise marquee location.
The structure itself was clean and contemporary, allowing the design details to shine. Soft lighting, carefully curated tablescapes and elegant florals created a refined atmosphere while still feeling warm and inviting.
Marquee weddings offer a blank canvas, which means every element can be tailored to reflect you. When approached thoughtfully, the result is cohesive and effortlessly stylish — ideal for couples who value aesthetic detail and experience.
From a photography perspective, modern marquees provide beautiful, diffused light during the day and a soft glow in the evening — perfect for creating imagery that feels both editorial and emotive.

FAQs – Marquee Wedding at Home
What are the benefits of having a marquee wedding at home?
A marquee wedding at home allows you to transform your own space into a completely bespoke celebration. You keep the familiarity and emotional connection of home, while creating a luxury setting tailored entirely to your vision. It’s personal, private and beautifully flexible.
Is a marquee wedding at home suitable for a luxury celebration?
Absolutely. Modern marquees provide a blank canvas that can be styled to feel elegant, contemporary and refined. With thoughtful design, lighting and florals, a marquee wedding at home can feel every bit as luxurious as a traditional venue — often with even more individuality.
Why choose a marquee wedding at home instead of a venue?
Choosing a marquee wedding at home gives you creative freedom. You are not limited by venue packages, layouts or time restrictions. Every detail — from the ceremony backdrop to the reception styling — can be designed around you and your story.
Are marquee weddings at home good for fine art wedding photography?
Yes — they are often ideal. Marquees provide soft, diffused natural light during the day and a warm glow in the evening, which works beautifully for fine art wedding photography. Combined with the familiarity of home and surrounding gardens, the result feels elegant, natural and timeless.
Can you have both the ceremony and reception in a marquee at home?
In many cases, yes. Couples often choose to hold their ceremony in the garden and then transition into a marquee for the wedding breakfast and evening celebration. This creates a seamless flow while keeping everything in one meaningful location.
Is a marquee wedding at home more private?
Very much so. One of the biggest advantages of a marquee wedding at home is complete privacy. The space is exclusively yours, allowing you and your guests to relax without the presence of other events or venue restrictions.
How many guests can a marquee wedding at home accommodate?
Guest numbers depend on the size of your outdoor space and marquee structure. One of the benefits of a marquee wedding at home is flexibility — the structure can often be tailored to suit both intimate gatherings and larger celebrations.
Is a marquee wedding at home suitable for a black tie wedding?
Yes. A marquee can be styled to suit a black tie dress code beautifully. Clean lines, elegant tablescapes and considered lighting create a refined atmosphere that feels modern yet timeless.
